A Switch that won’t charge, won’t wake up, or won’t show up on the TV takes a household out of commission fast. And because it’s a handheld, most people aren’t sure a repair shop even takes them in. We do. We service the Nintendo Switch family at both stores, and we’ll tell you honestly whether your system and symptom are ones we handle before you spend anything beyond the deposit.

The Nintendo Switch family is a system we support. These are the symptoms customers bring us most often. We confirm your specific system and issue at check-in; we don’t guess a diagnosis over the phone, because on a handheld the same symptom can have more than one cause.
A Switch that won’t take a charge, charges only at a certain angle, or has a cable that feels loose in the port is often a charging-port problem. Debris, a worn port, or a damaged connection are all possibilities, and they’re not the same repair, so we inspect first. Bring the charger you’ve been using; it helps us rule things out.
No lights, no sound, no response to the charger. Power faults on a handheld have several possible causes, and we evaluate before recommending anything. If it’s a system we support, we’ll find out what’s actually going on rather than swapping parts hopefully.
The console works handheld, but docking it gives you a black screen or “no signal.” That’s the HDMI / no-video path, and it’s one we handle on supported systems after inspection. There’s more than one point of failure between the console and the TV, so we test to find where it actually breaks down. Related work is on our Board-Level & Microsoldering page.
Not on the list? Tell us the system and the symptom and we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s something we take in. Rather talk it through than guess? Call your store and we’ll point you the right way.
Joy-Con drift is when a controller registers movement you didn’t make. It’s a controller problem, not a console problem. We don’t repair standalone gaming controllers, including Joy-Cons. That’s not a dodge, it’s the honest economics: on controllers, parts and labor usually add up to more than a replacement costs, and we won’t take your money for a repair we’d tell our own family not to pay for. What we do repair is the Switch console itself, for supported issues like charging, power, and no picture on the dock. Not sure whether it’s the console or the controller? Bring the console in and we’ll help you sort out which is which.
When you reserve a drop-off, you’re holding your check-in time, not bench time. That’s the appointment to hand the console over, not the moment a technician starts work. Walk-ins are welcome too; reserving just means less waiting at the counter.
A $50 diagnostic deposit applies at check-in, and it goes toward your repair. If you decide not to go ahead after we’ve diagnosed it, the deposit covers the diagnostic time. It’s the same deposit for every console we check in.
Consoles go into our repair queue, typically about 2–3 business days before your device reaches a technician’s bench. That’s the wait before work begins, not the total repair time, and Switch repairs aren’t same-day.
The final price follows the diagnosis, and no work begins without your approval. You pay at pickup. Eligible console hardware repairs carry a 1-year warranty on the installed part, the repaired area, workmanship, and labor. That covers the repair we performed, not a new, unrelated issue.
Your saves: back up saved data before you bring it in wherever you can. We take reasonable care, but saved data isn’t guaranteed during a repair. If data is the whole reason you’re here, say so at check-in and see Data Recovery (results are never guaranteed). Weighing repair against a new system? Our repair-or-replace guide walks it through, and Buy, Sell & Trade is there if you replace.

You can use our repair quote tool to see current pricing for supported Nintendo Switch system repairs. Pricing depends on your exact Switch model and the repair category you select. The quote assumes that the selected repair is the confirmed fault. If our inspection finds a different cause, additional damage, prior repair damage, or missing components, we’ll explain the difference and confirm any updated price before additional work begins.
Yes, the Nintendo Switch family is one of the current systems we service. We confirm your specific system and symptom at check-in rather than over the phone, because the same symptom can have more than one cause on a handheld.
No. We don’t repair standalone gaming controllers, including Joy-Cons; on controllers, parts and labor usually exceed the cost of a replacement. We do repair the Switch console itself for supported issues like charging, power, and no picture on the dock.
Often it’s a charging-port issue, but we confirm the cause before recommending a repair. Bring the charger you’ve been using; it helps us rule things out. Nothing is worked on until we’ve diagnosed it and you’ve approved the quote.
The $50 diagnostic deposit is taken at check-in for every console and goes toward your repair. If you decide not to proceed after diagnosis, it covers the diagnostic time. It’s the same for every console we take in.
No, we repair current supported systems only. Vintage and legacy consoles aren’t something we service, and we’d rather tell you that before you make the trip.
