BACKUP & RECOVERY · YOUR SAFETY NET

Backups you can actually count on when it matters.

Losing your business data is the kind of problem you only want to have once. We set up device, off-site, and Microsoft 365 backup so recovery is realistic, and we’re clear about what each one covers. Backup dramatically improves your odds of getting data back; it isn’t the same as disaster recovery, and no backup restores everything instantly or promises zero loss.

The kinds of backup, and why they’re different

Not all backup protects the same information or solves the same problem. We recommend the pieces that fit your business and explain the role of each one.

Device backup

Protects eligible files and system information stored on a supported computer or device.

Off-site backup

Keeps an additional copy away from the original device or location, so a local failure, theft, or other serious event does not affect every copy at once.

Microsoft 365 / SaaS backup

Creates a separate backup of eligible Microsoft 365 email and files beyond Microsoft’s built-in retention. Many businesses assume Microsoft 365 retention and independent backup are the same thing, but they are not.

What your plan covers

Backup plans include a defined storage capacity rather than unlimited storage. We confirm that capacity clearly as part of your recommended scope. Depending on the service or plan you choose, backup monitoring and recovery testing may be included or quoted separately. We’ll explain what your plan covers, what it does not cover, and whether additional storage or services are recommended.

Backup vs. disaster recovery vs. data recovery

Three terms that get mixed up, kept straight. They support one another, but they are not interchangeable.

Backup

A separate copy of important data that can improve the chance of restoring information after loss, damage, error, or another covered event.

Disaster recovery

A broader plan for restoring systems and helping the business operate again after a serious disruption. Backup can support that plan, but backup alone is not automatically disaster recovery.

Data recovery

A separate service for attempting to retrieve information from failed or damaged media. It is handled through our repair operation, requires its own evaluation, and has no guaranteed outcome.

Backup makes recovery options more realistic, but these three services are not interchangeable.

We configure backup so recovery is more realistic, then explain clearly what is protected, what remains outside the scope, and what additional planning may be appropriate.

How a backup plan comes together

We begin by understanding what information matters, where it lives, and what kind of recovery the business realistically needs.

1

Identify what needs protection

We review the relevant devices, systems, Microsoft 365 information, existing backups, storage needs, and recovery priorities.

2

Recommend the right approach

We explain which backup types fit, the defined capacity, what monitoring or recovery testing is included, and what remains outside the scope.

3

Approve the scope and price

You receive a custom quote before chargeable work begins. Any third-party storage or licensing is stated separately, and the work may be structured as a project or through an ongoing support plan.

Submitting an inquiry begins the conversation; it does not activate backup. No assessment, configuration, storage, licensing, monitoring, testing, or recovery work begins without approved scope and pricing. Third-party storage and licensing are stated separately, and backup may be structured as a project or through ongoing support. Backup & recovery FAQ

Yes: device backup, off-site backup, and Microsoft 365 / SaaS backup. We set up the pieces that fit your business, and depending on your plan, backup monitoring and recovery testing may be included or quoted separately; we’ll tell you exactly what yours covers.

Not in the way many businesses assume. Microsoft 365 has its own retention, but a separate Microsoft 365 backup gives you an independent copy of email and files you control. We can set that up.

No. Backup dramatically improves your odds of recovering data, but no backup restores every file instantly or guarantees zero loss. We configure your backups so recovery is realistic, and monitoring and recovery testing are available where your plan includes them or quoted separately.

Backup plans include a defined capacity rather than unlimited storage. We confirm the capacity clearly when recommending and quoting your solution. Any additional storage or third-party cost is stated separately.

No. Backup is a copy of your data; disaster recovery is a broader plan to get your business running again after a serious event. Backup supports disaster recovery but isn’t automatically the same thing.

That’s data recovery, a separate service handled at our store with its own evaluation and no guaranteed outcome. Backup is about preventing that scramble in the first place; if you’re already there, we can look at recovery options.
