Frequently asked questions

This page answers the questions we hear most. For the full details on a specific service, follow the links to that service’s page. That’s where we keep the exact options, pricing approach, timing, and warranty for it.

LOCATIONS & HOURS

Wilmington: 5500 Market Street, Suite 100B, Wilmington, NC 28405 · (910) 399-3797. Jacksonville: 1132 Western Boulevard, Jacksonville, NC 28546 · (910) 238-2277.

We serve the Camp Lejeune community through our Jacksonville store; there isn’t a separate base location.

STARTING A REPAIR

The quickest way is to get a repair quote for a defined repair, or bring your device to your store. We’ll confirm the repair, price, and timing, and no work begins until you approve it.

Where you can, yes. Back up anything you want to keep before a repair, since some work carries a risk to data. For phones and tablets, sign out and remove locks so we can test the device. Ask us if you’d like help.

APPOINTMENTS & WALK-INS

Appointments are recommended for convenience, but walk-ins are welcome at both stores. For computers, tablets, and consoles, an appointment reserves your check-in time, not immediate bench time. Check real-time availability and book on our appointment page.

A phone repair appointment is about 45 minutes and, when the part is in stock, reserves repair time. A drop-off reservation holds your check-in time for a computer, tablet, or console; it doesn’t reserve technician bench time.

Your booking confirmation includes a link to manage your appointment — use it to reschedule or cancel anytime. Prefer to talk to a person? Call your store and we’ll move it for you.

QUOTES, ESTIMATES & INSPECTIONS

A repair quote gives you a price for a defined repair; the final details are confirmed when we see the device. For Buy/Sell/Trade, the online number is a preliminary Buyback Quote estimate; the final offer comes after an in-store inspection.

A repair quote is what it costs to fix a device. A Buyback Quote is a preliminary estimate of what we might pay to buy it. They’re two different things, and we’ll help you compare. See Buy/Sell/Trade.

REPAIR TIMING

For many in-stock phone repairs, about 30–45 minutes, though some phones need to stay longer. For computers, tablets, and consoles, “2–3 business days” is the typical time before your device reaches a technician’s bench, not the total repair time; diagnosis, parts, and the repair add to that.

No. Some are quick, but many aren’t, and timing depends on the device, parts, and workload. We’ll give you a clearer timeline after we look at your device.

You will get text updates as your repair moves through the process, and when a quote is ready you will receive a text with a link to view and approve it online. Need an answer right now? Call your store with your ticket number and we will tell you exactly where your device is.

DEPOSITS & PAYMENTS

For computer, Mac, and console diagnostics there’s a $50 diagnostic deposit that goes toward your approved repair. For tablets, a $50 deposit applies only when we can’t adequately test the device at check-in.

You pay at pickup, after you’ve approved the work. We’ll go over payment options in store.

A $25 QuickFix covers repairs that take about five minutes or less. Rush service is $100 in addition to the diagnostic and moves your device to the front of the line. Both are explained before you commit, and the full details are on our store policies page.

We’re proud to serve a strong military community, including our neighbors at Camp Lejeune. Mention your service when you check in at either store and we’ll take care of you — our team will go over the details in person.

Most computer work starts with the $50 diagnostic, which goes toward your repair if you proceed. Once we’ve looked at your machine, we confirm the exact price before any work begins — no surprises. Remote support is $75 for the first 30 minutes, and quick five-minute fixes are a $25 QuickFix.

WARRANTIES & DATA

No, coverage is specific to each service. Many phone and tablet screens carry lifetime defect coverage for the original device, batteries carry one year, computer and console repairs carry one year on the work, and liquid-damage and data-recovery work carry no general warranty. See our Warranty page.

Back up anything important before a repair where you can. Some work carries a risk to data, and we’ll tell you when that applies. Data recovery is a separate service with a free initial estimate and no guaranteed outcome. See Data Recovery.

BUY / SELL / TRADE & DEVICES FOR SALE

Yes, we buy, sell, and trade a range of current, supported devices. Start with a preliminary Buyback Quote online, then bring the device in for an inspection and final offer. Being eligible doesn’t mean we repair a device, and it doesn’t guarantee an offer. Phones and tablets: payment or store credit is normally completed during the same visit after inspection. Computers and game consoles: we complete a full evaluation and stress test before the final offer, which can take up to 24 hours. See Buy/Sell/Trade.

Yes. We sell New and Certified Refurbished devices through our online store, with availability changing as inventory changes. Both New and Certified Refurbished devices include a one-year warranty against eligible defects. Browse Available Devices online to confirm current inventory.

CAREERS

Any current openings are posted on our Careers page. If you don’t see a role listed, we don’t have a published opening for it right now.

RESIDENTIAL, BUSINESS & WHAT WE DON’T OFFER

Yes. We offer residential technology support (onsite, remote, and pickup/delivery) and Small Business IT Support. See Residential Support and Business IT.

A few things: TVs; monitors; printer hardware (our Residential Support team helps with printer setup and problems at home); mail-in or ship-in repair; Apple Watch repair; older or vintage game consoles and some uncommon handhelds; and certain unsupported phone brands and devices. No. We repair phones, tablets, computers, Macs, and game consoles, but we do not repair TVs. Call your store and we will point you in the right direction.
We do not repair printer hardware in the store. Our Residential Support team helps with printer setup, connectivity, and print problems at your home, and we will always give you an honest read on whether a printer is worth fixing.
No. We install the parts we use as part of a repair, which is how we can stand behind the work with a warranty on the part and the labor. We do not sell parts over the counter for self-repair.
