BOARD-LEVEL REPAIR · MICROSOLDERING · COMPONENT-LEVEL WORK

Board-level repair and microsoldering, for the faults a part swap can’t fix.

Some problems live on the circuit board itself, not in a part you can simply swap. We perform selected board-level and microsoldering repairs on supported devices and faults at our Wilmington and Jacksonville stores. It always starts with an in-person inspection (we can’t diagnose a board fault remotely), and not every board can be repaired. We’ll tell you honestly whether it’s possible for your device and what it would cost before any work.

What board-level repair actually is

Most repairs replace a whole part: a screen, a battery, a charging port. Board-level repair works on the circuit board itself, down to individual components, using microsoldering. It’s precise, careful work, and it’s the right approach for certain faults that a standard part swap can’t fix. It’s not magic, and it’s not right for every problem, which is why we start with an inspection.

Why it starts with an inspection

Board-level repair is precise work on the circuit board, so it always starts with an inspection; we can’t diagnose a board fault over the phone or from a photo. We check the device in person, find where the fault actually is, and tell you whether a board-level repair is possible for your device and what it would cost, before any work begins.

Not every board can be repaired, and we won’t pretend otherwise. We perform selected board-level and microsoldering repairs on supported devices and faults. Some damage is beyond economical or reliable repair, and when it is, we’ll tell you and help you weigh the alternatives. A completed board-level repair follows the warranty for that device category; it covers the repair we performed, not new or unrelated faults.

Examples of board-level work we perform

PS5 HDMI port repair

A board-level console repair we perform on supported systems after inspection. It has its own detailed page: see PS5 HDMI Repair.

Console no-video & power faults

HDMI and related board faults on supported current systems, after inspection.

Laptop & computer power faults

Certain no-power and charging-circuit faults on supported boards, where a component-level repair is possible.

Phone board faults

Selected component-level faults on supported phones, confirmed by inspection.

Liquid-corrosion board damage

After a liquid evaluation, some corrosion damage can be addressed at the board level; some can’t, and we’ll be honest about which.

Start a board-level evaluation or bring your device in. Because board-level work is inspection-led, your device is checked in through the repair queue first, and any diagnostic deposit follows the rule for that device category; we’ll explain it before check-in. We inspect, find the actual fault, and tell you whether a board-level repair is possible and what it costs. Nothing chargeable happens without your approval.

Timing follows evaluation and approval rather than a fixed schedule. A completed repair follows the warranty for that device category (for example, our 1-year console repair warranty on a completed console board repair). It covers the repair we performed, not new, unrelated issues. Back up your device where you can before service; if the media itself is damaged, ask about data recovery.
