Do you want your computer to be up and running when you are ready to use it? If you work on a schedule, you can set your computer to be ready to go when you are ready to use it. Find out how to automate the boot process below.

Check The BIOS or UEFI

Most PCs will have this option available, but not all of them. To find the option, you’ll need to get into your computer’s BIOS or UEFI. Get into these settings by restarting your computer and hold the appropriate key, typically F11, Delete, or ESC. Verify the proper key by looking up your computer’s model online. Some computers boot very fast, so it might take a few tries before entering the settings.

Once you’re in the BIOS or UEFI settings, check for an option that allows your computer to boot on a schedule. Sometimes it is located under the Advanced settings options. Once accessed, you will be able to set what days of the week the auto startup applies.

Note: The specific location and name of these settings will depend on the computer’s make and model. Feel free to bring the device in for more information or check your user manual.
