Are you looking for something specific on a webpage? Some webpages are complex, making finding anything specific difficult. Thankfully, there is a way to search for anything within a webpage. Find out how below.
Ctrl + F
To open up a ‘Find In Page’ search bar, open up your favorite browser. Next, press and hold Ctrl+F (on PC, Chromebooks, or Linux systems) or Command+F (on Mac) on the keyboard. The ‘F’ key universally stands for Find and works in every web browser.
In the Chrome web browser, the search bar will appear in the upper-right hand corner of the window. When using Microsoft Edge, the search bar appears in the left corner of the window. If you use Apple’s Safari web browser, the search bar appears in the right corner of the window. Lastly, for Firefox users, the search bar is located at the bottom left corner of the screen. Once the bar appears, type whatever it is you are looking for, and each instance of the word or phrase will be highlighted.
This shortcut works in many apps and programs. This trick is handy when looking for things in Office programs and other documents. It even works with PDFs.
